A woman from the Isle of Wight kicked a police officer with her plastered leg during the arrest of her then partner.
Bobbie Jo Bradbury, of Cross Lane, Newport, admitted assaulting an emergency worker, namely a police officer, by beating, at Barton, on July 11.
Appearing before Island magistrates by video link from HMP Bronsfield, Bradbury also admitted a public order offence as part of the same incident.
Bradbury's pleas were made at an earlier hearing, but she had originally denied the assault and only changed it before a trial had taken place.
The 29-year-old saw her then partner being arrested from the window of her home, came out and was immediately aggressive towards the officers — making a homophobic remark to the female one, said Liz Miller, prosecuting, at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court, on Friday.
Bradbury, wearing a plaster cast on her leg, then attempted to obstruct the officers in the man's arrest, but fell onto her backside when pushed away by one of the officers.
However, Bradbury continued her sustained attack — kicking the male officer in the wrist with her plastered foot, which caused pain for several hours, the bench was told.
It is not the first time Bradbury had been violent.
She was jailed for 22 months by a Portsmouth Crown Court judge recently for inflicting grievous bodily harm, affray and racially aggravated common assault on July 28, 2001, which pre-dates the assault and public order offences of last year.
In mitigation, her solicitor, Oscar Vincent, said at the time of her arrest, Bradbury also had a fractured eye socket, which required an operation, as a result of assaults on her, and was not coping with the trauma it caused.
"She is not hiding behind any excuses for her behaviour, but in my opinion it is characteristic of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to the trauma of being a victim of serious assault," said Mr Vincent.
Magistrates jailed Bradbury for six weeks, which runs concurrently to her other existing term of imprisonment, with an order to pay the injured police officer £50 compensation.
Presiding magistrate, Janice Routledge, told Bradbury: "Your offences were aggravated by the homophobic comments you made to the officer."
